The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act (the “Act”) requires certain retailers and manufacturers doing business in California to provide information regarding their efforts to eliminate slavery and human trafficking in their supply chains. This statement is provided on behalf of Daily Harvest, Inc. (“Daily Harvest”).
Daily Harvest is committed to the highest standards for lawful, honest, and ethical conduct in all business dealings. This is reflected in everything we do, from our purpose-driven business decisions to the way we treat our employees and partners. Consistent with Daily Harvest’s commitment to a better food system - one that prioritizes human and planetary health - Daily Harvest is committed to ensuring our products are produced and manufactured with ingredients and materials sourced from suppliers that are not engaged or otherwise involved in human trafficking and slavery.
Daily Harvest generally verifies its supply chains by doing business with suppliers and manufacturers that are well-established, reputable organizations that respect the legal requirements of the jurisdictions in which they operate. Our vendors are required to agree to Daily Harvest Supplier Code of Conduct (“Code of Conduct”), set out in full here.
Members of Daily Harvest’s supply chain and logistics teams may conduct visits to our vendors’ facilities to strengthen our relationships with our partners and see that our standards are being met. Daily Harvest may also engage in audits of its vendors. If we suspect that a vendor may be at risk of violating our Code of Conduct, we will launch an inquiry into the matter, and in the event that a potential violation of our Code of Conduct is identified, we will work with the vendor to address and correct the issue, as appropriate. We reserve the right to end our relationship with any vendor that has violated our Code of Conduct. When exploring prospective vendors, Daily Harvest may conduct evaluations to ensure that they can comply with our Code of Conduct, which may include, without limitation, on-site visits.
Daily Harvest follows, and all employees are trained and required to follow, policies that demand lawful, honest, and ethical conduct in every aspect of business dealings. We have a Code of Ethics and Business Conduct that all employees, including but not limited to those with direct responsibility for supply chain quality and auditing, are required to acknowledge and follow.
We regularly assess our operational strategies to ensure we’re living up to our commitment of providing food that prioritizes human and planetary health. We continue to improve upon current risk assessment processes and protocols.
